WiseTech Global acquires Xware
On Tuesday April 30, Australian logistics software provider WiseTech Global announced its acquisition of Xware AB.
WiseTech Global is a global software group that provides solutions for effective logistics handling. The Company is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX: WTC) and has offices in over 130 countries with over 1500 employees. Among its more than 12 000 customers are many of the world’s leading logistics companies. In Sweden, Geodis and Greencarrier Freight Services, among others, are customers of WiseTech Global and the Company also owns a Swedish operation, Cargo IT AB, based in Upplands Väsby, Stockholm. In the past five years alone it has invested ~A$222million in innovation and product development, and millions more in expanding its adjacent technologies and geographic reach with acquisitions across Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas.
Becoming part of WiseTech Global does not entail any changes in how we work with our customers and partners. Xware will continue to develop and support its leading integration platform xTrade and the development of the up-coming ”Next Generation” platform continues unchanged.
Drawing on WiseTech’s global organization and development resources, Xware will be able to fast-track innovation. WiseTech will also give us the capabilities to support global companies within all industries with their mission-critical integration needs. WiseTech’s deep logistics industry expertise will also add additional value to our current customers within the logistics sector.
Xware becomes a wholly-owned subsidiary to WiseTech Global and will continue operating under the same company name and legal identity.
We are convinced that this step in Xware’s development brings a very positive change for our customers and our partners. Xware will retain all the positive characteristics of a small and agile organization, while gaining access to significant resources for global solutions delivery. The fact that WiseTech Global choses to base its integration bus on xTrade and on our technology is proof of the competitiveness and technological leadership of our offering.
